Date and Time: Tuesday, 23 February 2016 at 6:30PM
Venue: NYU Stern Tisch Hall Room T-200
Speaker: Susan Baer, Former Director of Aviation at Port Authority
Please join the Aviation Club at NYU in welcoming Susan Baer for a thoughtful speech and discussion with NYU Students.
Having worked at Port Authority of New York & New Jersey for over 37 years, Susan Baer was appointed as the Director of Aviation in September 2009 as the first person ever to lead all of PANYNJ’s major airports (including JFK, LaGuardia and Newark). She oversaw all the airport infrastructure projects and operations of this one of the busiest airport systems in the world. Susan joined Arup, an engineering consultancy firm, in 2013 and continued contributing to the advancement in transportation infrastructure with her professional expertise.
During the talk, Susan Baer will be sharing with us her experiences in managing infrastructure projects at different PANYNJ airports, and will explain how project financing, project scheduling, civil engineering requirements etc. apply to the projects she managed. Her talk will also include her thoughts on the operational improvisation at the airports. The event is certainly a networking opportunity for students, particularly those with finance, operations and engineering concentration.
