Dallas-based Southwest is the nation’s largest airline in terms of domestic passengers.
It operates over 750 Boeing 737 aircraft, to & from over 100 airports. It has mostly grown organically, but also acquired other airlines through m/a transactions. It started Hawaii service recently and also flies several international routes. Southwest has been widely & justifiably famous since its inception, for its very strong employee training, morale and service culture. Senior executives are charged with preserving and enhancing this culture as a top company priority.
Linda’s responsibilities include crisis communications, emergency response, and business continuity planning, employee communications, corporate community affairs, public relations, multimedia communication, legislative interface, and overseeing media relations. Prior to joining Southwest Airlines in 1992, she was a journalist in the Dallas area, including for the Dallas Times Herald, and Newsweek magazine here in New York. She has won numerous awards personally for business excellence and is involved in many communities and educational volunteer activities.
